Jamie & Andrew wanted a Christmas wedding, and while it was not on Christmas day there were no shortage of Christmas decorations! The ceremony was held inside at Jamie’s parents in Surrey. They had an aisle set up outside with mini Christmas trees and poinsettia, which was very fitting. And the dogs even got to watch (got photos of them as well). Andrew’s parents came over from England… the rest of the family still in England got to see and hear the wedding via Skype. It was touching to me to even feel the family’s love across all those miles via Skype. This was an unusual home ceremony at which I was requested not to take any photographs during the formal part of the ceremony. It still worked out great for them and you’d never know it from looking through the photos. Check with your wedding official as it is typically their decision how this is handled. I was ready for the first kiss though!
It was a beautiful mild December day (I love Vancouver!) and we were able to take some great portraits outside. You can see how much fun they were having in the photo session, I love it when people can let loose a little… it can help relax them for some more serious romantic type photos, which we got done as well.
The reception was held at Centennial Lodge in New Westminster. This was my first time shooting there, actually had a bit of trouble finding it in the dark but got there in plenty of time for the festivities.
All told it was a beautiful day for everyone. Jamie & Andrew were really a fun and upbeat couple!
